Privacy Policy

We're a privacy company. This policy exists to be read and understood, not buried. Plain English, no legal fog.

We need your email to run your account
We do not log your VPN or DNS activity
Your username can be completely fake
We do not sell your data — ever
Payments handled by PayPal/Stripe, not us
We do not share data with advertisers
You can delete your account any time
Nothing to hand over even if asked

1. Who We Are

Unblockr is operated by Unblockr Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX.

We provide VPN and Smart DNS services. We have been doing this since 2014. We are not backed by investors, we do not answer to advertisers, and we have no commercial incentive to misuse your data. The business model is simple: you pay for a service, we provide it.

For any privacy-related queries: support@unblockr.net

2. What We Collect — and Why

Email address — required. This is how we identify your account, send you receipts, and let you reset your password. We do not use it for marketing without your explicit consent.

Username — required, but does not need to be real. You can sign up as "John Smith" or "xkcd1337" — we genuinely do not care. We have no interest in your real name.

IP address at registration — collected briefly for fraud and abuse prevention at the point of account creation only. This is standard practice for any online service. It is not linked to your VPN or DNS usage.

Payment information — we do not store your card details. Payments are processed by PayPal or Stripe depending on your chosen method. We receive only a transaction confirmation and amount — no card numbers, no billing address, nothing that could be linked back to your VPN account or activity.

Support correspondence — if you contact us, we keep a record of that conversation to help resolve your issue. You can request deletion at any time.

3. What We Do Not Collect

// We do not log, store, or monitor your VPN traffic, DNS queries, browsing activity, connection timestamps, bandwidth usage, or IP addresses while using the service.

Our servers are configured to automatically shred DNS query logs every few minutes. VPN servers do not retain usage logs. There is no database of "who visited what site when." There is nothing to hand over — not to us, not to anyone who might ask.

This is not marketing language. It is how the infrastructure is built. If a court order arrived tomorrow demanding logs of your activity, we could not comply because the data does not exist.

4. How We Use Your Data

We do not profile you. We do not build advertising audiences. We do not analyse your usage to sell insights to third parties.

5. Third Parties

PayPal and Stripe — process all payments depending on your chosen method. When you pay, you are interacting directly with their platforms under their respective privacy policies. We receive only a payment confirmation and amount. We do not receive your card details, billing address, or any information that could be linked to your VPN usage or activity.

Freshdesk — our support ticketing system. If you open a support ticket, that conversation is stored on Freshdesk's platform. You can request deletion of any support records at any time.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or tracking technology on this website.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. Full stop.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account data (email, username, subscription history) for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain transaction records (typically 7 years for financial records under UK law — this covers payment amounts and dates only, not usage data).

VPN and DNS activity logs: not retained. They are shredded automatically and continuously. There is no retention period because there is nothing to retain.

7. Cookies

This website uses session cookies only — the minimum required to keep you logged in to the client area. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will mean you cannot stay logged in to the client area, but has no effect on your VPN or DNS service.

8. Security

Account data is stored on encrypted servers. All connections to our website and client area are encrypted via TLS. We use industry-standard practices to protect account information from unauthorised access.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If there were ever a breach affecting your data, we would notify you promptly and transparently.

9. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK-based company, we operate under UK GDPR. You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@unblockr.net. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active subscribers by email and update the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly change terms that affect your privacy without telling you.
